OPEN POSITIONS

School Counselor for 2018-2019


The Founders Academy Public Charter School, grades 6-12, is seeking a NH certified passionate school counselor for the 2018-2019 school year. This is a full-time position and will work under the supervision of the Director of Student Affairs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to assist students, parents and school personnel in developing and implementing effective programming to support academic, behavioral, and social and emotional growth.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  Master’s Degree in School Counseling, NH Certification (0040) and Middle/High School experience required. Familiarity with college and career counseling and standardized test administration ideal.


SALARY & BENEFITS:

About The Founders Academy
Founded in 2014, The Founders Academy is a free public charter school for grades 6-12 located at 5 Perimeter Road in Manchester. The school's mission focuses on the virtues of the Founding Fathers, leadership, character building, classical and challenging education in the core subjects and elective courses.   Established by the Founders Academy Foundation, the school offers the opportunity for each student to pursue mastery in their studies. Although the school is public, there is an application and possible lottery process for admittance. World Language Teacher (Full-Time)

The Founders Academy chartered public school, grades 6-12, seeks full time, experienced, fluent, and inspired French and/or Spanish teachers, initially to teach  language and culture, to middle school students. This is an opportunity to create your own curriculum in line with some of our teaching principles, such as hands-on, project-based learning, and a rich program of reading, writing and speaking.

Computer Science Teacher, Full-Time (anticipated for 2018-2019 school year)

The Founders Academy public charter school, grades 6-12, seeks an experienced middle-high  school computer science teacher, with a passion for and an in-depth knowledge of digital tools to support academic learning in all content areas. The mission of the school is to develop educated citizens and leaders who are knowledgeable about our past and who will apply the principles expressed in our founding documents to make wise choices to preserve our liberty while preparing students for the 21st century skills to compete in the current technology enriched society we live in. This is a unique opportunity for a computer science teacher/technology integration specialists to participate in the creation of a new, challenging, and meaningful curriculum which emphasizes the use of technology in project-based learning to support skill development for success in all academic areas.  Applicants should be well versed in Google Apps for Education, various web tools such as but not limited to WeVideo, Scratch, Code.org, Prezi, Animoto, and Zaptions. Familiarity with LanSchool is a plus.


The ideal candidate is highly encouraged to be Google Level 1 Certified, belief in Gamified Learning Theory, hold NH Certification in either Computer Science or Technology Integration Specialists with 3-5 years experience teaching at the Middle School/ High School level, completed professional training in Exploring Computer Science, and CS Discoveries, with excellent classroom management skills.


Additional Skills in the following areas a plus:

Java - Computer Science A
