"Good morning, Founders Academy.  This is your Dean of School speaking.

Today is Inauguration Day in the United States of America where one presidential administration peacefully transitions to another just as our Founding Fathers intended.

On this day, at high noon, Donald J. Trump of New York will be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States and Michael R. Pence of Indiana will be sworn in as Vice President on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, DC.  In attendance will be various people including former presidents Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush, William Clinton, Barack Obama, and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Vice President-Elect Pence will be sworn in first by Associate Justice Clarence Thomas of the U.S. Supreme Court.

Then, the Chief Justice of the US Supreme Court - John Roberts -  will administer the oath of office to President -Elect Trump  from Article II, sec. 1 of the U.S. Constitution.  It reads as follows:  'I, <full name>, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.'

The words 'So help me God' have also been added over the years to the end of the oath by previous presidents-elect.

The newly sworn-in American President then gives his Inaugural Address.  The Inaugural program also consists of songs, readings, and prayers.

The Inaugural Parade from the Capitol Building to the White House starts at 3pm today.  Various Inaugural Balls take place tonight and are each visited by the new President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

Thank you."
