The Founders Academy Awarded Gold for Best Charter School in New Hampshire
September 9, 2021 – Manchester, NH – The Founders Academy is honored to be named Gold Winner for Best Charter School in New Hampshire for 2021! The Manchester Radio group held a Best of 603 contest this summer to engage the community in celebrating places the community loves. Best of 603 had over 2,500 businesses, organizations, and individuals competing to be named in the top three spots of 243 categories. 51,000 votes were cast to determine bronze, silver, and gold level winners!
“As we enter our eighth school year, we continue to build upon our five pillars: character, leadership, liberty, history, and entrepreneurship. Our mission statement is a constant reminder of who we are as a community and what goals we are striving to achieve. We are the leaders of our future, we demonstrate good character, we value the lessons of the past, we honor the great men and women of history, and we celebrate the liberties our country has given us,” said Faculty Representative, Andrew Mihaly.
After revealing the award to the students, Board of Trustees, and community members, Dean of School, Cassie Hayes, outlined all the things that make The Founders Academy the best charter school in New Hampshire including acknowledging the first Dean of School, Maureen Mooney, the school’s Board of Trustees, and community partners such as Northpoint Construction and the Manchester Police Department. Dean Hayes concluded her announcement by thanking teachers, staff, parents, and students. “Thank you to all of the parents who entrust your most valuable asset, your children, to us! Thank you to our students--our school would not be complete without each and every one of you! You make our school the best charter school in New Hampshire!”
The Founders Academy is a public charter school for students in grades 6 through 12 that is free and open to all New Hampshire students. Beginning in September 2021, The Founders Academy will begin enrolling 5th-grade students for the 2022-2023 school year.
The Academy develops leaders who understand and apply the lessons of the past, demonstrate exceptional character and lead by example. The Academy recognizes the importance of balance in the development of the whole person, and respects each student's journey.
Principled leadership is fostered by means of a curriculum of classical studies that includes analyzing the lives of great men and women of history, mining the rich classical ideals of the Western tradition, and tracing the evolution of the precious and costly idea of liberty.
