Student Activities Committee 
Advisor: Mrs. Meilleur
Meeting time: TBD
Description: The Student Activities Committee is comprised of spirited students 
From each grade. Spirit days at Founders such as “Pajama Day”, “Crazy Hair Day”,
“Twin Day” etc. are coordinated and promoted by the Student Activities Committee. 
They are also responsible for the coordination of “Teacher Appreciation” week. The Student Activities Committee is a place to share school spirit ideas and convey the “spirit” of
Founders to the student body.
Membership: Both Middle and high school students.

Yearbook Club
Advisors: Mrs. Meilleur, Mrs. Ragas, Mrs. Bosia
Meeting time: TBD
The yearbook committee meet to put together a yearly book of photos and memories for students to have as a keepsake about their year at The Founders Academy.

National Honor Society

Meeting time: Bi-weekly on Tuesdays 3:15-3:45
The National Honor Society chapter here at Founders Academy is part of a prestigious national
Organization, the oldest honor society in the nation. NHS students plan and execute service,
Fundraising and student life enrichment projects throughout the year. Students in grades 10-12 who are eligible for application into the NHS receive their applications after first
Quarter report cards are released.

National Junior Honor Society

Description: The Founders Academy’s chapter of the National Junior Honor Society is a duly chartered and affiliated chapter of this prestigious national organization.
Membership:  Open to students in grades 6-9 who meet the required standards in five areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. Standards for selection are established by the national office of NJHS and have been revised to meet our local chapter needs. Students are selected to be members by a 6-member Faculty Council, which bestows this honor upon qualified students on behalf of the faculty of our school. There is no right to membership. It is a privilege bestowed upon a student by the faculty of the school.

Middle School Drama Club

Description: Middle School students put on productions and are introduced to different aspects of a play. They work together in teams to learn new skills and often work with high school students to learn about the technical aspects of a production. Past performances include Wenceslas, The Enchanted Bookshop, and Peter Pan.
Membership: Middle school students only.

High School Drama Club

Description: Within Drama Club, every student can find a place to contribute. From technical jobs, such as set building and painting, to lighting and sound, our students take leadership roles within the production. They work together in teams to learn new skills and help create mentoring relationships. Participating in theatre helps to build student confidence and promotes teamwork, commitment, and responsibility. In the words of one of our students: "Theater is very important in student lives because it gives them more confidence and self-respect, which is a very important feature in a future leader." Past performances include Knights of the Rad Table, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, The Entire History of the American Revolution in 40 Minutes or Less, and Silent Sky.
Membership: High school students only.

Student Senate
Advisors: TBD, Mrs. Humphrey
Meeting time: Tuesdays 3:15-4:00pm
Description: The Student Senate is the high school student government. Students represent their Round Tables and the student body at large. These students review school policies and student issues. The mission of this club is to develop in students excellent qualities of character and leadership by affording them a real opportunity to lead.
Membership: High school students only. Members are selected through elections in Round Tables.

House of Representatives
Advisors: TBD, Mrs. Humphery
Meeting time: Thursday at 7:15 am
Description: The House of Representatives is the middle school student government. Students represent their Round Tables and the student body at large. These students review school policies and student issues. The body is also responsible for student activities, including planning the Olympics day at the end of each year.
Membership: Middle school students only. Members are selected through elections in Round Tables.

The Tri-M Music Honor Society
Advisor: Mr. McKenzie
Meeting time: Level 4 Band/Chorus class times.
Description: The Tri-M Music Honor Society is open to high school students who are members of the Level 4 Band and Level 4 Chorus. Students in our chapter showcase their leadership skills in various ways to help the Founders Music Department. Members help to set up for our concerts, tutor younger music students, organize social activities and fundraise by selling nachos during lunches.



Recreation and Leisure Clubs

Sewing Club
Advisor: Mrs. Nichols
Meeting time: Tuesdays 3:15-4:30pm
Description: This club welcomes new and experienced sewers. We will be learning how to sew by hand and with machine to create a wide variety of projects. If you have a sewing machine you would like to use, please bring it! If you don’t have one we have some to share.


Running Club
Advisor: Mrs. Nichols
Meeting time: Thursdays after school
Description: Running club welcomes seasoned and new runners to work on their fitness goals after school.
Membership: Both middle and high school students.

Minecraft Club
Advisor: Mr. Canetti
Meeting time: Thursdays 3:30 to 4:30 in Room 158
Description: Minecraft is one of the world’s most popular games. There are no rules about how to play the game-you decide what you will build, grow and craft. Game play involves players interacting with the game world by placing and breaking various types of blocks in a three-dimensional environment. In this club members build creative structures, creations, and artwork across multiple game modes. In honor of the past club leader, Ethan Paris, we will build and play together.

Baking / Cooking Club

Meeting time: Tuesdays 3:30 to 4:30 in lower café
Description: A fun community where people can meet and discuss recipes for a variety of different savory and sweet things. And possibly bring something from one of the recipes here and there. We can share our culinary photos or videos.

Pokémon Club

Meeting time: Wednesdays 3:15 to 4:15 in Room 167
Description: Students meet to play Pokémon (card game) and enjoy fellowship.


Anime Club
AdvisorMr. Canetti
Meeting time: Fridays 3:30 to 4:30 in Room 158
Description: Students meet weekly and discuss / watch selected (school appropriate) anime episodes, hold elections, create their own anime(s). Meetings include brainstorming for ideas in the future.  

Language and Linguistics Club 
Advisor: Mr. Tissot
Meeting Time: Tuesdays 3:20 to 4:20 in Room 180
Description: Activities and topics of discussion may include the following:
(Each meeting will be limited to one or two activities)
• Learning idiomatic expressions in other languages
• Sharing days for individual students or faculty
• Learning about cognates from other languages
• Guest speakers
• Guessing where languages are from
• Learning about what makes a language a language and why dialects exist
• Why is learning a second language fun, important, and beneficial?
• The United Nations and NATO

Esports Club

Meeting Time: Mondays 3:30 to 4:30 in Room 158
Description: Have you ever been good at a video game and wanted to play competitively? Well now you can with the all new Esports club. We will play different games such as Rocket League, Apex Legends, and others.

Knitting Club
Advisor: Ms. Robichaud
Meeting Time: Thursdays 3:15 to 4:30 in Room 123B
Description: Ms. Robichaud has offered to teach a group of students how to knit. There are limited supplies. Please contact Ms. Robichaud for a supplies list.
