New Hampshire Scholars - National and state-wide initiative, offering incentives to high school students who choose to participate in a challenging and rigorous course load. For more information, contact your school counselor.
NCAA - National Collegiate Athletic Association is a national, non-profit organization which regulates and organizes college level sports. Note: High school students wishing to play Division I or II sports in college must be registered with the NCAA.
Common Application - Undergraduate college application form used by over 600 colleges and universities.
FAFSA - Free application for Federal Student Aid is the financial aid application used by students to apply for grants, scholarships and loans offered by the U.S. Department of Education. Information given is also used by colleges and universities to disperse their own institutional money.
CSS Profile - College Scholarship Service Profile is a financial aid form distributed by the College Board and used by over 400 private colleges and universities.
NHHEAF / Center for College Planning- New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation is a non-profit organization which offers free college planning and financial aid assistance to New Hampshire students and families.
PSAT/NMSQT - Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test is a standardized test which is also used for qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) - A standardized test used for college admissions and readiness.
ACT (American College Test) - A standardized test used for college admissions and readiness.
Khan Academy- Online educational tool to assist students. Offers free SAT prep.

Occupational Outlook Handbook - U.S. Department of Labor website with job information such as pay, typical job duties, and required education.
NH Vocational Rehabilitation- "The mission of New Hampshire Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation is to assist eligible New Hampshire citizens with disabilities secure suitable employment and financial and personal independence by providing rehabilitation services."
NH Job Corps Center- "Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 to 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training."
City Year- City Year is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to better the outcomes of students in urban areas. Young people dedicate a minimum of 12 months to the program, typically as a gap year between high school and college.
Peace Corps - "The Peace Corps Volunteer program is often called life-defining by the more than 220,000 Americans who have served. Get the chance to fully integrate into a host country community, where you will live and work on projects ranging from education to business development."

Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Apprenticeship Program - "The Shipyard Apprentice Program's Trades Apprenticeship and Worker Skills Progression Program train applicants in various skilled trades. The shipyard has Memorandums of Understanding with York County Community College and Great Bay Community College providing employees the opportunity to earn credits towards associate’s degrees in Trade and Technical Occupations and Technical Studies at the two local community colleges respectively."
Military Information
U.S. Air Force - "The Air Force Academy is both a military organization and a university. Much of the Academy is set up like most other Air Force bases, particularly the 10th Air Base Wing, but the superintendent, commandant, dean of faculty, and cadet wing are set up in a manner resembling a civilian university."
