Kate Mote

Teacher, English, Theatre

B.A., English, Minor in Classics, University of New Hampshire
M.A., English, Southern New Hampshire University
M.A.T., Secondary English Education, Southern New Hampshire University

Ms. Mote teaches English and Theatre, and directs the Founders Theatre program. A second-generation theatre director (and a theatre kid at heart!) she believes that studying the written word teaches us about ourselves, our place in the world, and self-expression.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in English from the University of New Hampshire where she studied Latin and Ancient Greek for her classics minor. From there she earned two Master’s degrees, one in English and one in Secondary English Education, from Southern New Hampshire University.

In addition to teaching English and Theatre classes, she is also a playwright and the director of the award-winning Founders Theatre program (2025 State Theatre Festival Champs). Now in her eleventh year at Founders Academy, she is passionate about mentoring students as they grow in their theatrical abilities and is driven to find new and exciting challenges in her craft, especially in exploring work that makes old stories new.
