Ms. Mote has been an enthusiast of classic literature since the 7th grade. She believes that studying the written word teaches us about ourselves, our place in the world, and self-expression. Ms. Mote graduated from a classical high school where she studied Latin and great works of literature, culminating in a year-long study and a 100-page senior thesis based on the complete works of Shakespeare.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in English from the University of New Hampshire where she continued her study of Latin and took up Ancient Greek for her classics minor. From there she earned two Master’s degrees, one in English and one in Education, from Southern New Hampshire University. Her graduate work concluded in her Master's thesis on early American modernism.

When she's not in the classroom, she enjoys directing theater productions with her young adult theater company where previous productions include The Importance of Being Earnest and The Mousetrap. She is also an avid football fan, and during football season can be found intensely following her beloved Patriots.
