Teacher, World Languages

Bonjour! Je m’appelle Madame Hogan, and I love to speak French! I first discovered French culture from my dear Middle School art teacher, who taught us about the work of Renoir, Monet, Rodin, and many others who were renegade artistes. Immediately, I began following my dream of learning how to speak French so that one day, I could study in France. I began my coursework at UNH as an Art major, but once I had completed all that was required to study abroad, I had become a French major, and fallen in love with the beautiful French language. UNH introduced me to a whole world of French literature and theater that my drama club kid heart adored! I realized my dream of studying in France at the Université de Bourgogne in Dijon, and to traveled all over France and in Québec often in my younger days.

I have been teaching French since 2003, and I never gave up being an artist. I bring my love of drawing, painting, art history, literature, music, film, and creative thinking to all of my classes to help my students experience French language and culture in various ways.

When I am not in school, I am reading Fantasy, drawing, cooking with my husband while we enjoy some music, watching a good movie, or enjoying outdoor time in the woods, or on the coast. I am a big fan of Halloween décor, and my house is ready for Oct 31 every day of the year.

I spend lots of time with my family. My husband and I have 5 grown kids, the MOST spoiled of which is our chiweenie pup, Gus! Bienvenue à la classe de français!
