Nick Efstathiou

Teacher, History

Bachelor of Arts, English Literature, Rivier University
Master of Arts, Military History, Norwich University

Mr. Efstathiou is a native of New England and was a terrible student for the majority of his time in school. He has worked as a ghostwriter, librarian, bookseller, book dealer, bookmobile driver, trashman, paraprofessional, and teacher. He is a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Efstathiou is a husband, father, and grandfather. He is also an avid reader, writer, and builder of Lego sets.

Mr. Efstathiou came to teaching accidentally. He began as a substitute teacher, then he became a paraprofessional, and then a teacher. Many students have asked why, if he didn’t like school as a child, would he voluntarily return to teach? It is a fair question that deserves a fair answer. Students are more than welcome to come and ask him for the answer.

Mr. Efstathiou worked for two years at a private school teaching 8th grade English and history.

Mr. Efstathiou lives with his wife, their youngest son, a dog, a cat, a tortoise, lots and lots of Lego bricks and Minifigures, and books. He takes an active role in online veterans' writing groups and enjoys spending time at home with his family.
